VEGETABLE RAVA BIRYANI

         Today I am going to share a modified version of rava kichadi. I love to have rava/semolina/sooji in any form like rava idly,rava upma,rava kichadi,rava dosai. the list goes on...
The spices used for making rava biryani will make it more delicious. A simple onion raita goes well with this rava biryani. 

INGREDIENTS
Rava
1 cup
Onion
1
Tomato
1
Mixed Vegetables
1  cup
Green chilly
2
Ginger
¼ inch piece
Garlic
2
Turmeric powder
A pinch
Red chilly powder
½ tsp
Garam masala powder
½ tsp
Water
3 cups
Cinnamon,cloves,bay leaf,star anise,kalpasi
1
Oil   
2 Tbsp
Salt
To Taste
Curry leaves,coriander leaves
As needed

STEP BY STEP PICTURES
Roast the rava.Chop the vegetables.Slice the Onion,tomato,green chilly,Ginger. For mixed vegetables I have used carrot,beans,frozen peas,cauliflower.
Heat oil/ghee add cinnamon,cloves,bayleaf,star anise,kalpasi. 
Add onions and fry till it turns transparent.then add tomatoes,curry leaves.
Now add ginger,garlic,mixed vegetables,salt.
Stir well.Then add Red chilly powder,turmeric powder,garam masala powder.
Add 3 cups of water.allow it to boil.
When it starts boiling add rava and stir continuosly. Keep in medium flame and close it with a lid. cook for 3 - 4 mins.
Finally add coriander leaves.

You can also add  few mint leaves along with the vegetables .
