CABBAGE PORIYAL


                    The most hated vegetable which I avoid to cook is cabbage because of the smell. But now I add ginger to remove the smell of Cabbage. This is a simple & healthy poriyal. Cabbage is rich in Vitamin C.

To obtain the health benefits of Cabbage avoid over cooking it,since it decreases the nutritional value especially vitamin C

INGREDIENTS


CABBAGE
1 Cup
MOONG DHAL
¼ Cup
ONION
1
GREEN CHILLY/RED CHILLY
1-2
COCONUT
3 Tbsp
GRATED GINGER
¼ Tsp

STEP BY STEP PICTURES


Chop the cabbage into fine pieces.

In a kadai temper with the ingredients given under "To Temper" table. Add the Onion and fry till it turns pink.  Then add the grated ginger.

Now add the Cabbage. Sprinkle little water.

Add Salt and cover it with a lid.

Cook the moong dhal with less water. Let it be soft. It should not turn mushy.Now add the cooked Moong dhal.

Mix well.

When it is done add the grated Coconut.

Serve hot.

You can add Coconut oil at last which gives a nice aroma & flavour.
