MOONG DHAL RICE

      This recipe sounds like Ven pongal but the taste will be different. When you get bored of your regular menu try this once. The preparation time is less than 15 mins.
Coconut Thovayal is the best combination. But if you like ,you can have it samabar also. You can also use Raw rice.

INGREDIENTS

BASMATI RICE
1 Cup
MOONG DHAL
¼ Cup
COCONUT
2 Tbsp
GREEN CHILLY
2
MUSTARD SEEDS
¼ Tsp
ASAFOETIDA
A Pinch
SALT
To Taste
OIL
1 Tsp

In a kadai dry roast the Basmati rice,Moong Dhal until it turns milky white.

In a Pressure Cooker heat oil & add Mustard seeds, Allow it to crackle then add Green Chillies.

Pour water & add Salt.

Now add the Rice,Dhal. Mix well.

Pressure cook for 3 whistles.

Open the Pressure Cooker & fluff it fork.

The rice should not stick to each other.

Top it up with grated Coconut .
