INSTANT SAMBAR

       When you run out of vegetables for doing sambar trying this Instant  Sambar.

INGREDIENTS

MOONG DHAL
1 Cup
ONION
1
TOMATO
1
GREEN CHILLY
2 - 3
RED CHILLY POWDER
½ Tsp
TURMERIC POWDER
¼ Tsp
MUSTARD SEEDS
½ Tsp
URAD DHAL
½ Tsp
JEERA
¼ Tsp
ASAFOETIDA
A Pinch
SALT
To Taste
OIL
1 Tsp

STEP BY STEP PICTURES

Soak Moong dhal for 15 mins. Pressure cook for 2 whistles.

In a kadai heat oil add Onions,Green chilly.

Now add tomatoes & fry till it turns mushy.

Transfer the onions,tomato mixture to the dhal in pressure cooker. Add Red chilly powder,Turmeric powder,salt & close the pressure cooker. Keep it for 1 whistle.

In a Kadai heat oil & add Mustard seeds,Urad dhal, Jeera, Asafoetida, Dry red chilly (optional). Pour it into the sambar.

Transfer it to serving bowl.




 Raks have named this dish as TOMATO GOSTHU.
