INSTANT RASAM

I call this as " INSTANT RASAM"  because we can prepare this rasam with Sambar powder itself. 

INGREDIENTS

TOMATO

COOKED TOOR DHAL
½  Cup
TAMARIND
A Small goose berry size
SAMBAR POWDER
1.5 Tsp
TURMERIC POWDER
A Pinch
GARLIC
2 - 3
SALT
To Taste
MUSTARD SEEDS
¼ Tsp
ASAFOETIDA
A Pinch
JEERA
¼ Tsp
CORAINDER LEAVES
Few
OIL/GHEE
½ Tsp

Pressure cook the dhal by adding turmeric powder with little water.

Extract tamarind juice. Mix Toor dhal,Sambar powder,crushed Garlic,smashed Tomatoes,Salt to the Tamarind juice.

Transfer the contents to the kadai. Switch off the flame when it becomes frothy.

Temper Mustard seeds,Jeera,Asafoetida in oil/ghee. Pour it in the Rasam.
